Job Description:

The Clinical Documentation Specialist RN II demonstrates expert knowledge of documentation principles and is responsible for improving the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation. They facilitate modifications to clinical documentation through interaction with physicians, nursing staff, other patient care givers, and medical records coding staff to ensure that appropriate reimbursement is received for the level of services rendered to patients with a DRG based payor. In addition, the CDS RN II ensures accuracy and completeness of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician and Rush outcomes and educates all members of the patient care team on an ongoing basic.

REQUIREMENTS:

State licensed RN; BSN preferred.
Minimum of 3-4 years clinical nursing experience, and medical/surgical care management expertise.
Ability to learn/develop the skills necessary to perform the Clinical Documentation Management Program. Coding knowledge and/or CDMP program experience is preferred.
