DVTE Technical Support Specialist

The Systems Engineering Group of QinetiQ North America delivers systems engineering and integration, software development, logistics information management, training systems management, information technology services, and test and evaluation support for the development, modification, fielding and sustainment of military equipment and systems. The Group’s primary focus is at the operating force level and military buying commands.

 

 

 

We currently have an opportunity for a DVTE Technical Support Specialist located in Quantico, VA.

In this role, the incumbent will provide technical support to scenario developers, mobile training teams, and TECOM in preparation for and support of initial fielding of DVTE. Serve as the Technical POC for Mobile Training Teams, coordinating with all responsible parties to ensure all required technical and user documentation is prepared and user friendly. Provide technical inputs to Training Support Packages (including scenario and other game based and technical material). This material will include instructions on system (hardware and software) setup, scenarios and other technical information required to support that training. Provide network, software, and game design support for DVTE. Prepare TECOM DVTE suite for all demos as required. Serve as network administrator for the TECOM DVTE suite. Work directly with technical analysts at each Battle Simulation Center to ensure best practices are being used and shared across the Marine Corps. Use the Mission Support Center website to improve collaboration and provide technical assistance to Simulation Centers as needed. Participate as a member of a Mobile Training Team supporting fielding to DVTE to operational forces. Will lead the effort to provide quality instructions on the set-up and technical operation of the system for both the Simulation Centers as well as operational units.

Civilian Education:

 

  • Requires a high school diploma and a technical course completion of the designated systems with 6 or more years of related experience on designated systems. 
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

 

Military Operational Experience.

  • Prior military service is preferred but not mandatory.

 

Technical Qualifications.

  • Must have previous experience with PC based game and scenario development.
  • Some programming experience in Java, C++, and knowledge of XML is preferred.
  • Previous experience with Marine Corps tactical C4I such as C2PC and AFATDS a plus.
  • Must have a general understanding of operating systems to include both Windows and Linux based systems.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of computer networking architecture to include both hardware and software.
  • Must be capable of establishing a simulation network to include hardware setup and software configuration.
  • Prior experience with JSAF and HLA networks a plus.
  • Candidates will be subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.  US Citizenship is required.
