Reports to:  Sales Manager


 


SUMMARY:


Through knowledge, education and problem solving it is our goal to help our producers reach the full genetic potential of their heifer calves while creating recognition of ANIMART as a Dairy Calf and Heifer resource. Working with the ANIMART team, this person will be responsible for promoting and fulfilling the ANIMART brand, assisting the client to attain their animal health and production goals while also helping to reach the goals of ANIMART.


 


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE:



  • Setting and attaining sales goals and increasing our customer base.

  • Working closely with ANIMART Veterinarians and dairy calf and heifer raisers, both contract heifer raisers as well as on farm heifer raising operations, to solve problems and develop new programs.

  • Developing strong knowledge of the company’s product lines and services.

  • Detailing and selling products such as Bovamine (from Nutrition Physiology Corporation) and being responsible for the sales growth of products such as Bovamine.

  • Demonstrating and teaching procedures such as oral fluid administration, IV catheterization, drawing blood, etc and assisting in problem solving by sharing knowledge, education and solutions with the producers.

  • Developing educational and sales materials with marketing to promote ANIMART as a dairy calf and heifer resource.

  • Participating & networking with dairy organizations such as DBA, PDPW, and Dairy Calf and Heifer Association; developing relationships and networking with industry influencers.

  • Coordinating meetings related to calf management.

  • Conducting on-farm sales calls, quoting prices and credit terms, estimating delivery dates, and accurately entering new customer information and sales orders into the computer.

  • Traveling to and attending trade shows, meetings, informational sales programs and committee meetings.

  • Pursuing professional growth through continued education and company sponsored educational sessions.

  • Contributing to building a quality work environment at ANIMART by taking initiative, respecting others, and being a team player. Following ANIMART policies and procedures. Using good communication by listening and sharing information to enable others to do their jobs more effectively. Using proper language and etiquette, setting a good example and treating customers and coworkers with respect and appreciation.  Exceed Expectations.

 


QUALIFICATIONS:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Enthusiasm, initiative, reliability, creativity, leadership, teamwork, confidentiality and an outgoing personality are important attributes for this individual.  Professionalism, excellent organizational, sales and communication skills are very important to this position.  Candidate must possess effective listening skills, along with the ability to multi-task and problem solve.



  • 4-year degree in agriculture, dairy/animal science or related field with a passion for dairy calves and heifers.

  • An overall understanding of the calf industry; knowledge of calf management, nutrition, and products used in successful operations and experience in feeding and raising calves.

  • Documentation of prior successful sales including conducting cold calls, follow-ups, having a high level of confidence of asking customers and prospects to buy, and attaining sales goals.

  • The ability to learn and retain technical information and to be able to communicate this knowledge.

  • Interest in new product and business development.

  • Must be customer driven and be able to understand customers’ calf needs. Must strive to exceed customer expectations and be solutions oriented.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.


  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and Dairy Comp 305.

  • Ability to follow directions, prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and work independently.

  • Positive attitude and approach, honesty and integrity, self-motivation and professionalism.

  • Valid driver’s license without moving violations required.

 


HOURS OF WORK:



  • Full-time employment offering a competitive benefits package.

  • Travel required in Wisconsin and surrounding states where there are large dairy calf and heifer operations.

  • Position based at the ANIMART corporate office in Beaver Dam WI.
