The Payment Innovation Strategy department intern will assist in preparing strategic data analyses and reporting.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Support the reporting of Cost Opportunity metrics
  • Preparation of metric inventory databases
  • Preparation of metric estimate reporting
  • Outreach to internal business partners to gather and compile metric inventory and metrics results
  • Compiling and preparing reports, graphs and charts of data developed
The right candidate will receive an orientation to the Company and the health benefits industry, be exposed to a professional office and will learn the about the financial performance incentive process. Qualified candidates will interact with operations leaders, information management, and various business users.

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Helping to construct and evaluate physician performance metrics
  • Constructing models to test for meaningful variations in care
  • Analyzing relationships between provider financial performance and their performance on cost of care metrics
  • Presentation preparation
  • Testing statistical significance of metric and modeling results
  • Projects dealing with such topics as:
  • Process improvement
  • Efficiency and performance management
The ideal candidate will have the following credentials:
  • Current student enrolled at an accredited college/university studying statistics, biostatistics, business analytics, epidemiology, public health or similar area of study
  • Individual should possess strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with other business intelligence tools (tableau, SAS, Teradata) a plus
  • Any prior experience working with health care data a plus
