The Position:

The Data Analyst/Sr. Data Analyst is a key member of the Data Analysis and Reporting Department.  The department is responsible for analyzing and mining large amounts of data (primarily medical claims), designing studies, developing models and addressing corporate reporting needs.

Responsibilities:

• Perform exploratory analysis on large amounts of client data.
• Apply statistical analysis to answer business questions.
• Synthesize results of the analyses, make recommendations and assist in presenting findings to stakeholders across business units.
• Develop routine and ad-hoc reports to address corporate reporting needs, in particular for sales and marketing department.
• Research and develop statistical models for ongoing operational questions.

Requirements: 

•  Minimum of a Masters of Ph.D. in Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline.
• At least 5 years of related work experience in a healthcare or health plan environment.
• Knowledge of data querying, data mining, statistical programming, modeling and reporting.
• Expert working knowledge of a statistical package such as S-Plus (preferred), R, or SAS, including the appropriate programming language.
• Experience in database administration an added benefit.
