Data Analyst/Technical Writer

Big-company reach, small-company attitude! AAI Corporation, an operating unit of Textron Systems, is currently recruiting for a Data Analyst/Technical Writer for our Hunt Valley, MD location. Primary responsibility will be to perform data reduction for flights of Unmanned Air Vehicle Systems. Responsibilities will be to download and analyze UAS flight data under supervision of the engineering staff. The data will be plotted into appropriate format using Excel and or MATLAB. The data will then be incorporated into reports to be distributed both internally and externally. Must be able to generate coherent technical reports with attention to detail. Must demonstrate good verbal communication skills and be able to convert information from system matter experts into written reports.

Required Skills
Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally with relatively short notice. Must be able to work long hours and be on call on weekends. Strong communications skills are a must with a sample of technical writing required. Strong PC skills including MS Word, Excel, MATLAB experience is required. Must be able to convert binary and hex numbers to decimal. Must be able to import / export various data formats (i.e. raw ASCII to Excel) The final product will be a well written technical report.
Required Experience
Associates degree in technical discipline preferred. (Electronics, Aviation, or Computer Science,etc.). Military or UAV background is preferred. At least three years experience writing technical reports.
