The Data Architect is responsible for developing the enterprise data architecture and technical design, reports, application interfaces, data queries, installation, management, & support of Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) applications. Improve internal application technology processes and productivity, while ensuring user satisfaction and maximizing the IT groups’ contribution to the business goals and objectives. 5+ years experience as data or information architect and direct experience with system design, coding, configuration, testing and debugging reports, scripts, and interfaces for commercial grade applications.
- Participate in and support the architectural design decisions regarding interface, internal process and reporting solutions within and between systems
- Hands-on experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and business requirements gathering/analysis and support of business initiatives
- Strong understanding of relational data structures, theories, principals, and practices
- Strong familiarity with metadata management and associated processes
- Hands-on knowledge of enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools, ETL &EAI data mapping tools, and data profiling tools
- Ability to manage data and metadata migrations
- Experience with database platforms, specifically SQL & Oracle
- Provide technical advice, design, analysis, custom code development, and troubleshooting as well as configuration, testing, and production support of technical solutions
- Provide guidance and mentoring to technical analysts for custom technical components of technical solutions
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems Technology or related field
- PL-SQL, C, C++, J2EE, .NET Framework, Excel, VBA, C#.NET as well as use of XML, web services and related tools
- Prior experience with most of the following technologies is required: Data Structure Design, DFD, ERD, SQL scripting, PL/SQL programming, IIS administration, Apache and associated Web technology, XML, Web services, ....NET OOP, Crystal Reports Development, and VBA
- Experience with any of the following technologies is a plus: Microsoft Server o/s (2000,2003), SQL (2000,2005), Oracle (10g) Databases with Grid Control in a RAC environment, IBM Websphere, Allegro, IBM Maximo or Mainsaver, OSISoft PI, nMarket, MicroGADS, Microsoft Dynamics SL (Solomon), SAGE FAS, Crystal Reports Server with Business Objects, FRx, Microsoft SharePoint portal & Webparts, VMWare
