Data Architect

The ideal candidate will function as a Data Architect, participating in the design and implementation of databases that can support the ongoing company growth. Utilizes CASE tools to develop large project and business-wide logical data models. Manages and conducts one-on-one interviews and facilitates JAD sessions to elicit data requirements. Ability to work in both a team environment and on individual projects is essential.
 
Deliverables: criteria/results by which success can be measured:
• Builds and maintains project data models using CASE technology.
• Maintains database dictionaries and integration of systems through database design.
• Maintains status of project responsibilities
• Able to review requirements and evaluate risks/benefits for a moderate to large impact project
• Able to prepare implementation plan and contingency plan for supported applications for moderate to large impact projects.
• Identifies risk areas and implements preventative measures.
• Identifies opportunities and enhancements or resolutions with assistance from Vendor and/or Business Line.
• Identify contention areas and recommend improvements
• Provides technical guidance to junior team members.
• Encourages others to recognize valid contribution of other team members
• Searches out opportunities to address a large group of peers on a technical issue or initiates a presentation to the user community.
• Runs project meetings efficiently.
• Coordinates Activities with Vendor personnel (vendor presentations, site visits, prepare for installations, etc.)
• Provides technical expertise to terms, conditions, and schedules of agreements with product/service providers.

Technical Knowledge:

• Expert knowledge of Erwin.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 UDB and DB2 Mainframe.
• Experience using MS Project.
• Ability to write clear documentation of procedures, and ability to write specifications for data models to be developed.
• Exceptional communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills.
• Extremely detail-oriented and able to follow clear methodologies for troubleshooting and development.
• Ability to support and work within standard software development life cycle practices.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years experience with verifiable skills with Data Modeling.
• Exceptional problem solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
Banking or financial reporting experience helpful
