The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), nation’s second largest school district is recruiting for a highly qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Data Base Administrator.
The Data Base Administrator is a technical lead for a group of Data Base Specialists involved in the development of advanced data processing systems, preparation of technical specifications, and analysis of large, complex relational data bases.
The strong candidate will be knowledgeable in the following areas:

This position is a 10, 11, or 12 month salary-basis; annual salary and benefits for 10 or 11 month position will be adjusted accordingly.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from a recognized college or university, preferably with a major in computer or information science, or business data processing. Graduate level courses in computer or information science, operations research or data techniques is desirable. Qualifying experience in addition to that required below may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Five years of experience in the design, development, modification, improvement and implementation of relational data base management systems that includes access methods, definition languages, and teleprocessing software in an installation utilizing third-generation systems that support batch, teleprocessing, data base and real time applications. Experience with physical and logical data base design, data security, development of plans for the conversion of existing systems to data base systems, data base recovery and backup techniques, on-line CICS data inquiry and updating, and optimum processing techniques also is required. Two years of this experience must have included using Oracle, DB2, or CICS; and must have been in a supervisory or project leader capacity.
