Data Modeler Position

Join Northrop Grumman today!  We have an immediate need for a Data Modeler based in Fair Lakes, Virginia.   In this position you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the logical and physical data model for a large web-based information system.  You will support system and software engineers, working with functional requirements to document the conceptual data model, then deploy the data model within the application.  You will be expected to support both OLAP and OLTP data modeling tasks.

Responsibilities will include technical design and development, planning processes for system functionality, analyzing data engineering problems and identifying acceptable workaround solutions.  In this position, you will work closely with the system engineering, software engineering, test engineering, and operational support teams.  This position requires the ability to travel (up to 25%).

 The following are the basic qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in technical field and a minimum of 5 years of experience performing data modeling, data engineering, and database development in a CMM/CMMI level 3 and above environment. 

• Active Secret level security clearance and US Citizenship is required for this position

• This position requires the ability to travel (up to 25%) 
• Experience with SQL-Server and Oracle database 
• Experience with data modeling tools including ERWIN and Sparx's Enterprise Architecture
• Experience with DOD data modeling regulations and policies
• Experience with SFIS data elements
• In-depth knowledge of software systems' lifecycle requirements/processes
• Experience with direct customer support
• MS Office, MS Access, and MS Project skills
• Oral and written communication skills
