McGraw-Hill Higher Education (MHHE) is looking for an Data Quality Analyst in their Burr Ridge, Illinois location. This is an exciting opportunity to interface across various levels of MHHE including Marketing, Sales, Oracle IT, Data Administration, Customer Service and Editorial.
 
The Item Set-Up and Data Quality Analyst is responsible for entering and extracting Higher Education ISBN requests in the database and maintaining data integrity. This position will require strong data processing skills and the ability to interface between several systems.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and analyze database fields as they relate to item set-up and maintenance.  Validate item set-up for compliance with packaging rules, ecommerce requirements, revenue/royalty allocation, naming convention, etc.  Process items manually or via data extract from internal database.  

  • Interface with internal & external customers; troubleshooting and escalating support customer services issues as needed

  • Identify ways of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of data processing services in the department.

  • Maintain product support reports in Excel and Access Databases and assist with database testing as required.

  • Strive to meet department productivity and quality goals.

  • Recommend process improvements and identify opportunities for automation.

  • Conducts or assists in WebEx training when appropriate for internal customers

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Experience managing large quantities of data

  • Superior prioritization and follow-up techniques, and attention to detail

  • Experience on mainframe and PCs required

  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing market place 

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong Excel Skills required

  • Ability to handle heavy workload during peak times and meet critical deadlines
