Data Warehouse ETL Developer

Monster is seeking a motivated Data Warehouse ETL developer to join our Technologies Department in our Boston area offices. The position will be responsible for developing Data Warehouse ETL and database objects to provide world class Business Intelligence solutions sourcing Monster’s Siebel CRM, Telephony, Oracle Financials, External Partners and Monster.com Core Site data   

 
Essential Functions:
 
  • Works closely with the business, other architecture team members and global project teams to understand, document and design ETL processes and needs.
 
  • Participates in the defining, development and implementation of data warehouse and data mart databases and their content.
 
  • Develops and maintains mapping logic to move data content from varied sources systems to the data warehouse and data marts.
 
  • Design, Develop, Test, Optimize and Deploy SSIS packages and stored procedures to perform all ETL related functions.
 
  • Plan and coordinate ETL and database roll-outs with project team members, development and database engineers.
 
  • Provide support, maintenance and issue investigation and resolution for front and back-end ETL processes.
 
  • Help the reporting group with tuning of their queries and creation of optimized views.



Job Requirements:
 
Required Skills
 
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related field 
  • Experience developing and maintaining SSIS packages. 
  • Solid understanding and proven experience in ETL methodologies, Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing principles, approaches, technologies, and architectures including the concepts, designs and usage of data warehouses, data marts, and operational data stores
  • Expert skills designing, developing, tuning, debugging and deploying SQL Server stored procedures, triggers, T-SQL.
  • Experience with ETL processes and practices in a high availability VLDB (+4 TB) data warehousing and data mart environments. 
  • Experience with metadata based ETL processes and the design and implementation of metadata driven solutions.

Preferred Skills
  • 3+ years of ETL and database design, monitoring and tuning, profiling and performance optimization. Including aggregate and index design, usage and options to improve load and extract performance in Data Warehousing and BI environments.
 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of underlying architecture of Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services.
 
  • Experience with SSRS and SSAS highly desirable.
 
  • Informatica and Siebel Data Analytics experience a plus.
 
  • Ability to debug and solve complex problems.
 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow a project plan and meet project deliverables, working with and within cross functional Development, QA, Test and Production Teams.
 
  • 5+ years of practical, hands-on experience in a technical area of expertise.
