CSC/AdvanceMedis currently expanding its IT/Data ManagementDepartment inour Baltimore/Woodlawn data center. Looking for dedicatedEntry to Junior level IT candidates to support our data warehouse inour Data Management team. The candidate must be very detailed, responsible and quality oriented. Responsibilities require running and monitoring Data Management's DataProbe jobs. DataProbe is a proprietary data warehouse tool. Candidate will be trained as an administrator of DataProbe. The responsibilities include DataProbe backup and restores, data loading and data scripting.Additional responsibilities include database archiving, deletion of files no longer required, organizing and moving files. Will be working closely with programmers in conducting various data management functions.Develop, run and review quality control scripts to insure data validity. Assist with the management of tape library. Some duties will be required to be performed after normal working hours to reduce the impact on the production environment.
Essential Job Functions
  • Assists in the application of data analysis and data modeling techniques to establish, modify, and maintain basic data structures and their entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, and attribute definitions according to client specifications.
  • Assists in the analysis and validation of basic database structures, models and processes to ensure definition according to business objectives and operations.
  • Communicates with clients about matters of significance and discrepancies related to data to ascertain correct information and correct errors.
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of data standards to ensure consistency across databases.
  • Investigates and resolves technical matters of significance within databases by analyzing and researching possible causes and making appropriate corrections to ensure client satisfaction.


Qualification
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science or related field preferred
  • Zero or more years of experience in programming or data analysis
  • Experience working with relevant programming languages and relational databases
  • Experience working with data modeling practices and procedures
  • Experience working with company software and hardware products

Other Qualifications and Responsibilities:
  • Basic research and data analysis skills
  • Communication skills to communicate with designers, management and customers
  • Personal computer and business solutions software skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Working knowledgeMicrosoft Office products especially Excel
  • Responsibility requires developing, running and monitoring Data Management DataProbe jobs. These responsibilities include DataProbe backup and restores, data loading and data scripting.
  • Script DataProbe .lay files for new data imports.
  • Maintain orderly file management of the Production and Load server tiers. Including archiving, deletion of files no longer required, moving files.
  • Working closely with programmers in conducting various data management functions. An important component of this interface will be file management and project's status and expectations.
  • Develop, run and review quality control scripts to insure validity of the data.
  • This position includes working with Data Analyst inAdvanceMed's regional offices to insure the success of Data Center's data initiatives.
  • Responsible for documentation of processes and procedures.
  • Complete all assignments in a timely, accurate and complete manner. Some duties will be required to be performed after normal working hours to reduce the impact on the production environment.
  • Manages tape library including but not exclusively, loading tapes, organizing tapes, developing procedures and insuring the working environment of tape systems and archiving.
  • Follows security policies and requirements.
  • Assist with other projects and activities, when necessary.
