SUMMARY:
The DBA/BSA role is responsible for facilitating day-to-day support for existing operations, while managing and executing strategic programs and initiatives that affect the technical operations (manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, and quality) of the Sandoz Wilson Organization. This role will interact heavily with key Tech Ops contacts and will play a consultative role to the organization including identifying continuous improvement opportunities. In addition, this role will be responsible for the day to day prioritization and completion of work requests. The candidate must be highly experienced in Oracle, SQL, and other database administration. Support includes controlling updates and upgrades to the data base, monitoring performance and other characteristics of all databases. Databases may reside on Windows, Unix or other platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Thorough understanding of the business functions for which applications are used, interfaces with department managers to identify and resolve business systems problems, and consults with various users to identify potential enhancements.
o e.g., resolve user incidents related to computer systems in lab
* Act as a functional area expert for production and lab systems including LabWare, Empower, TrackWise, NuGenesis, and Proficient to provide systems support and proposals for further system development and deployment
* In conjunction with the responsible business functional leader, determine the project approach, resources, responsibilities, and schedule. Develop and/or review estimates and estimating assumptions for the project's schedule, effort, and cost, best practices, and past experience.
* Design, plan and implement database systems and programs.
* Administer access methods, device allocation and/or security processes. May conduct data validation checks.
* Provide documentation for source data and may participate in database planning.
* Works on advanced projects of a significant level of complexity. Responsible for monitoring the quality control processes and ensuring proper use of data. Conducts specific aspects of database planning, development and quality assurance.
* Interfaces with department managers to identify and resolve database problems, and consults with various database users to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage.
* Has thorough understanding of technical
concepts required for specialized field. Uses that knowledge, creativity and company practices and priorities to obtain solutions to complex problems.Education/Experience:
Bachelors Degree with 6 years of related experience.
