About the Job
Job Description:
We have an immediate need to staff a Database Administrator on site in Garden City, NY for assistance with perform monitoring, proactive support, and troubleshooting for current Production, and if time permits to assist the Operations teams in preparing the databases for migration and launch in the new datacenter environment.
Skills Requirements:
Must have
Well versed with SQL Server versions 2000 & 2005
Experience in SQL Server replication & DR site implementation
Troubleshooting issues related to performance, networking & database recoveries
Understand storage basics
Experience with planning and implementing large database backups.
Experience with clustering technologies (MS Cluster / VERITAS) on windows and prior experience of SQL Server clustering
Some direct development support experience (Few years of SQL – PL/SQL programming exp.)
Understand (at least one) application server framework (WebSphere / ATG Dynamo / BEA Web logic etc), preferably with direct support responsibilities in an Internet-facing environment.
Well versed with Oracle 9i & 10g
Experience with Oracle RAC clusters & oracle replication.
Good to have
Aware/trained with PCI compliance
Knowledge of windows domain topology.
Some shell scripting experience
