JOB DESCRIPTION:

The candidate must be an experienced Database Administrator with a good understanding of the needs of the different database architectures. Responsibilities will primarily include:
• Assist developers in schema changes to existing databases and making optimized modifications to existing database deployments.
• Improve automation in existing processes and ETL sub-system.
• Day to day management activities of production databases for online system operations: monitoring, troubleshooting, backup, restore, change management, database upgrades & installs.

SKILLS:

Required, Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, SQL

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

SQL: stored procedures, triggers. PostgreSQL experience preferred. Data warehouse design, ETL processes, data modeling. Reporting tools such as BIRT. Linux/UNIX and scripting (shell/Python) desirable.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS:

Short term engagement to support maintenance and automation improvements to existing service's databases and data warehouse. Note that the system is using PostgreSQL, not Oracle.
