Position Summary -  DatabaseAdministrator
Database Administrator will support corporate and production database and
systems infrastructure in a 24/7 environment.   Ensure 99.9% uptime of
production database and network environment.  

Applicant should be good in basic SQL commands.  Should be familiar with Microsoft SQL Server architecture and be able to handle basic database maintenance, backups, restores, re-indexing, etc.

The successful candidate will also be involved in setup of new production server installations and upgrade of existing servers and data bases.  Support internal PC users.  Also, includes support of production data bases, the internal network infrastructure, internal servers, VPN connections and firewalls.  Assist and support the Engineering team in the design, implementation and deployment of new technologies. 

Education and Experience:
.    Minimum of a BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent
experience.  
.    3+ years of solid experience in network and system administration. 
.    Set up data sharing and disk partitioning

.    Develop database utilities and automated reporting

.    Create shell scripts for task automation

.    Create, test and execute data management languages

.    Restore and recover corrupted databases

.    Install and test upgrades and patches

.    Provide 24/7 support for critical situations

.    TCP/IP (packet level)  networking, DNS/BIND,  and Apache/Tomcat
.    Windows and Microsoft networks

.    Unix and Oracle experience a major plus
.    Windows XP Professional/Windows Small Business Server 2003/Active
        Directory/Exchange Server 2003/MS Office 2003
.    Symantec Corporate Edition AntiVirus
.    Dell PowerEdge Servers
.    Nagios network monitoring, DBA, system security and Cisco experience
        a plus
