POSITION:    Database Administrator (DBA)

SCOPE OF POSITION:

Universal Lighting Technologies, Inc. is the global leader in ballasts and controls for commercial lighting applications. The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for reviewing, evaluating, designing, implementing and maintaining all ULT databases. Position will also assist application developers in reviewing database design and improving database performance. Qualified candidate must demonstrate expertise in a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.

SPECIFIC DUTIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ø       Support Oracle EBS Instance (10.7, 11i, R12 and future versions)

Ø       Design Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence platforms

Ø       Support the end user reporting environment and the associated tools  (Discoverer, Business Objects, Crystal Reports)

Ø       Build database schema, tables, procedures and permissions

Ø       Set up data sharing and disk partitioning

Ø       Develop database utilities and automated reporting

Ø       Create shell scripts for task automation

Ø       Proactively analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements

Ø       Proactively analyze, consolidate and tune databases for optimal efficiency

Ø       Restore and recover corrupted databases

Ø       Install and test upgrades and patches

Ø       Implement security and encryption

Ø       Provide 24/7 support for critical situations

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

Ø       Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the areas of computer science, 
information systems, information management or a related field required.  

Ø       Certified Oracle DBA, required (OCP-DBA certification)

Ø       Oracle 9i, 10g, and 11g, required

Ø       Oracle EBS installation and support (10.7, 11i, R12)

Ø       PL/SQL, RMAN, Shell (C, Korn, Bourne, KSH), OLTP, Linux, UNIX, SAN, ETL, MS SQL Server, T-SQL, DTS

Ø       Minimum of 8+ years relevant work experience, required

Ø       Proven project management ability including demonstrated proficiency in scoping and planning complex business solutions crossing multiple departments.
