- Designs, implements, and maintains database code using various software applications.
- Designs and runs queries to extract and compile data for reports, production support issues, and/or application maintenance.
- Creates and maintains SSIS and DTS packages for data extraction and refreshes.
- Maintains availability and integrity of databases through multiple access schemes; facilitates sharing of common data by overseeing proper key and index management.
- Code from detail design documents.
- This position will require administrative tasks to support Production Database Administrators and will be part of the on-call rotation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum of five years installation and support experience with relational databases and transaction processing systems, preferably in multiple platform hardware and software environments, along with experience with MS SQL Server 2000/2005/2008.
- Informix and Oracle experience a plus.
- Ability to interpret data models and to develop appropriate database code.
- Ability to use standard diagramming techniques to design appropriate database code
- Ability to construct Intermediate- to Expert-level UPDATE, SELECT, INSERT, and DELETE Transact-SQL statements.
- Ability to create and alter stored procedures, triggers, and functions within a SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 environment.
- Ability to query multi-dimensional database structures.
- Knowledge of T-SQL, PL/SQL, and basic SQL required.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise.
- Knowledge of data integrity methods and techniques.
- Demonstrated technical writing skills.
- Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.
