

The person for this position will ensure the integrity, high availability, security and performance of our corporate databases. Communication skills are an essential ingredient for working with both peers and application/product development teams at other US sites in the design and implementation of databases which support the SHPS business processes. - Process workflow for database and data model activities, such as migrating schema changes and enterprise-wide standards throughout the environment. Problem resolution for database-related functions.
- Keeping corporate data model diagrams and data dictionary information current.
- Enforcing corporate data policies, such as backup/recovery, security and database maintenance routines and schedules.
- Strategic database design, planning and execution with Product and Application Engineering teams.
- Performance monitoring and tuning of development, test and production environments including identification and tuning of poor-performing application code and/or database configuration.
- Identify and automate regular database and application maintenance tasks.
- Mentor junior members of the database staff.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years SQLServer DBA experience on large-scale enterprise applications.
- T-SQL and/or PL/SQL programming and SQL tuning experience.
- Demonstrated experience translating conceptual design into logical and physical data models.
- Backup and recovery experience.
- Work with a geographically dispersed team.
- Good communication skills.
- Documentation skills.
- Preferred Skills:
Oracle or Sybase experience
Perl
