100% time, one year fixed-length



 



The
person in this position is responsible for the design, development, and support
of database and their integration with web-based software systems for DBAS and
other University faculty and staff in a multiple operating system client/server
environment. This person will also advise DBAS and other departments on
database systems and database management in these environments, therefore the
candidate should have strong database administration skills. They will be
assigned to either assist or coordinate major and minor development projects.
In addition the development of new solutions, the maintenance and upkeep of
existing and new turnkey systems will be required. Qualification: B.S. or B.A.
in Computer Science or a related field from a four-year degree program and two
years relevant experience or equivalent combination of academic and work experience.  Demonstrated working knowledge of a
high-level computer programming language (Perl, Java, or C/C++ preferred) and
knowledge of structured and object oriented programming practices. Experience
with UNIX (Linux) and CGI scripting, preferably some UNIX administration
experience. Experience developing web based software development (Apache/Linux
preferred). Experience developing database centric software applications
(Oracle, Microsoft Access preferred).
