













RTI International is seeking a Database Developer to develop scientific models, analytical applications, and information systems for environmental and public health projects. Duties include gathering requirements, designing, developing, testing, and documenting multi-tiered applications.
Youll be in a challenging, multi-disciplinary environment working with a dynamic group of professional staff under the guidance of a senior scientist or applications developer. You will work as part of a project team addressing critical international, national, and regional environmental and health problems that impact communities and ecosystems. Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree,
* 3-7 years of experience in database applications design and development(Masters degree is considered equivalent to 2 years of experience)
* Demonstrated interest in environmental issues..
* Experience with conducting requirements analysis and design, and with development using relational database software such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MS Access.
* Solid grounding in database design, data structures, and proficiency with structured query languages (e.g. ANSI SQL/PLSQL/Transact SQL) and stored procedures.
* Demonstrated oral communication and writing skills essential. Candidate must be able to travel internationally for at least several weeks at a time.
* Experience in scientific software and model development in the areas of physical systems, chemical fate and transport in the environment, risk assessment, hazard assessment, agent-based modeling, statistical analysis, or data visualization is desired.
* Programming experience in C# .NET, Java/J2EE, or VB .NET.
* High degree of proficiency with Excel including applications programming preferred.
* Experience with web development and software development life-cycle practices preferred.
* Knowledge of Arabic and experience in the environmental science arena would be preferred.
