Position title: Database Developer
Reporting Relationships:
Direct Supervisor: Team Leader, Database Team
Job function:
- Programs for performance, regulatory/compliance and accounting reporting
- Troubleshoot and research trade problems as needed
- Insures that programming changes determined by NASD/clearing agent are implemented promptly
- Work closely with DBAs/other teams to support organizational and team goals.
Expected short term results (specific tasks to be accomplished 3-6 months):
- Assume responsibility for existing software (including OATS and clearing) and implement requested upgrades-working closely with internal customers on new requirements
- Gain a general understanding of all ATD systems in operation/development
Expected Long term results:
- Assume increasing responsibility for programming and reporting related to database
- Pro-actively serves as internal resource and consultant to improve access to information
- Researches, recommends and implements new technologies to improve system
Product familiarity/technical knowledge
Required:
- Strong scripting background in Linux/Unix environment, willing to use Perl
- Strong Oracle Database Development experience
- Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
- Basic understanding of PCs
Desirable:
- Pro *C or Pro *C++
- Oracle Application Express
Educational background
- Bachelor's degree plus minimum 3 years work experience in database development or programming in a database environment
- Individuals with significant work experience in lieu of education considered
