Database Engineer
Database Developer
- MS in Computer Science
- 6 years of relevant Oracle experience in design, development, implementation and support of OLTP/ OLAP systems on Unix/ Windows platforms
- 2 years of experience managing performance engineering projects and teams, preferably multi-location/ multi-geography.
- Proficient with ODBC, C#, ODP.NET and other Oracle data access tools/ techniques
- Extensive experience with optimizing database performance
- Extensive experience with high volume Oracle Text data stores
- Experience directing performance test teams to build performance test environments, test scripts & execute performance tests
- Ability to distill performance test data, analyze results and diagnose performance problems
- Experience with configuring and interpreting resource usage metrics for servers
- Extensive knowledge in writing efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, functions, etc.
- Hands on experience monitoring and tuning databases in high concurrency environments
- Experience in performance tuning and query optimizations Experience developing, deploying and supporting enterprise class software systems
- Ability to implement performance monitoring to support operational processes
Responsibilities- Design & development of database access layer/ API Develop techniques to optimize data stores
- Contribute to architecture, design and code reviews
- Participate in performance related technical communication with customers Develop tools/ techniques to enable developers to write highly efficient SQL statements
- Perform basic DBA functions
- Plan, allocate and manage performance enhancement activities across project(s) and distributed teams
