Essential Job Functions
  • Configure and deploy IBM Guardium to ensure collectors/aggregators, load balancers, software TAP agent (S-TAP), Guardium Installation Manager (GIM), and Change Audit System (CAS) are properly installed.
  • Provide continuous support for troubleshooting and maintenance of Guardium deployments.
  • Run, test, and validate Guardium configuration settings and fully document technical and procedural requirements.
  • Ensure successful data activity monitoring implementation that supports critical business applications for the enterprise.
  • Responsible for capacity planning and System design lifecycle.
  • Advise engineering strategy to propose alternative courses of action for Guardium deployment iterations.
  • Refine Guardium data activity monitoring processes, protocols, and automation methods by working with the technical leads on Service Delivery teams to communicate technical designs and resolve implementation details for all network, server, storage and software components.
  • Collaborate and provide direction working with integration tool called jSonar that will feed the Guardium collector data to the GCP.
  • Evaluate updates to new/existing database security controls by determining the strengths/weaknesses.
  • Engineer & architect database security solutions; like encryption, masking, tokenization, & database firewalls.
The qualified candidate will have:
  • BS/BA in related field required
  • 8+ years experience in systems administration and security aspects of information systems, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development and management; significant experience with multiple technical and business disciplines required.
  • Current experience in the areas of system and infrastructure design, database administration, operations, and engineering.
  • Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of industry-accepted data processing controls and concepts as applied to access management and network security technologies, hardware, software, data, network communications, and people.
  • Detailed understanding of data protection concepts and operational functionalities; TCP/IP networking, Cryptography and tokenization, Data Encryption, Data Access Management and Governance.
  • Familiarity with other data security and data protection technologies; Symantec DLP, Varonis, IBM QRadar, etc.

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be capable of understanding, documenting, communicating and presenting technical issues in a non-technical manner to audiences with varying degrees of technical expertise
  • Must possess and demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision making capabilities
  • Security Certifications: CISSP and other advanced technical security certifications (e.g. Information Systems Security Architecture Professional, Information Security Engineering Professional, Certification and Accreditation Professional, or equivalent certifications) preferred.
