Troy University is currently accepting applications for Dean, Sorrell College of Business. The dean is the chief academic and administrative officer of the college with multi-campus responsibility for coordinating all academic programs, scholarship, and service activities; oversight of program review, assessment and regional and specialized accreditation; strategic planning, resource management, and all aspects of human resource development. The dean oversees the development of undergraduate and graduate curriculum; provides overall direction of the faculty; and supervises the associate deans of the college on the respective campuses. The dean reports to the Executive Vice Chancellor/Provost. Position requires an earned doctorate in a discipline within the college's areas of responsibility and a record of academic achievement that would qualify the candidate for appointment at the rank of associate professor/professor. The dean will be active in fund raising, forging strategic partnerships with the private sector, and building external relationships including working with the college’s advisory council. The dean will advance the professional accreditation of the college and its reputation regionally and nationally. Preferred qualifications include demonstrated success in fostering external relationships and generating external funding; recruiting and retaining faculty and students.
