Pfizer's Global Financial Solutions (GFS) Shared Services is a well-established operation with beginnings in Memphis, Tenn., in 1997. The organization expanded to Europe in 2003, Asia in 2007, Latin America in 2013, and Eastern Europe in 2014.  In 2016, GFS welcomed Cairo into its network, providing financial shared Services support to the AfME region.  GFS Shared Services has a workforce of more than 900 Pfizer colleagues, in addition to a successful partnership with a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partner, Genpact, in three locations globally.

Part of the GFS network, the Decision Support Center of Excellence (DS CoE) is a centralized Finance department with locations in the US and UK, and more recently China and Costa Rica.   The DS COE provides comprehensive financial reporting, financial support and guidance to the commercial finance teams within each Latin American market.  The DS CoE encompasses the analytical and advisory activities performed by the Finance Organisation, including Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting, Business Strategy & Support, Level 1 Financial Analysis, Data Validation & Reconciliation, Cost of Sales Analytics and Management Reporting.

The DS CoE Finance Analyst position is responsible for undertaking data validation and finance management reporting and analysis in order to support Finance colleagues.  In particular, the DS CoE Finance Analyst is responsible for conducting the following key activities:

  • Management Reporting and Financial Reporting analytics
  • Report consolidation and submission
  • Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Presentation development and preparation
  • Data Validation including maintain KPIs
  • Cost of Sales Reporting and Analytics

Operations Management:

  • Coordinate the completion of all standard and ad hoc Finance requests within the DS CoE agreed upon scope and Standard Operating Procedures for a given business unit, site and/or market.  Develop, track and report on DS CoE Key Performance Indicators
  • Play a supporting role in the migration of management reports associated with integration activity
  • Preparation and validation of complex financial analysis and other reporting activities including the prioritization and execution of ad-hoc reporting requests.
  • Execute the recurring Budgeting and Forecasting activities including: establishment and coordination of timelines, data extraction and submission into Local Mosaic, validation of forecasted numbers, and comparisons to prior forecasts.

Customer Relationships:

  • Serve as key point of contact for Regional Finance Managers and other Pfizer stakeholders to field requests and make sure that Finance needs are met, risks/issues are resolved, and quality of output is consistently delivered in accordance with service level expectations
  • Maintain a general knowledge of business unit-specific trends and past performance as well as key drivers
  • Track and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for specific stakeholder groups.

Team Leadership:

  • Participate on teams responsible for the integration/separation of domestic acquisitions/divestitures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Prepare written preliminary commentary on reports and analysis
  • Understand and apply knowledge of the systems landscape, particularly sources of information necessary for the completion of management reporting and analysis requests
  • Understand and apply knowledge of best practices for data extraction and manipulation
  • Work directly with Finance Colleagues when necessary to complete analysis and reporting requests in the absence of availability within the analyst levels

Technical Skills & Experience Requirements:

  • Highly analytical with the ability to translate large amounts of data and information into actionable insights and business recommendations
  • Process-oriented with strong organization and planning skills
  • Ability to identify business issues/opportunities and to frame business questions
  • Knowledge of various financial systems and financial reporting aspects
  • Advanced Microsoft Office capabilities, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Competency with spreadsheets & financial modeling (comfort with data manipulation and financial systems), particularly with Microsoft Excel and Hyperion Smartview.
  • Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)


  • Bachelors required. Finance/Economics/Accounting is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Versed in GAAP and IFRS general principles, financial skills, etc.
  • Excellent English verbal/written communication skills required.
  • Minimum 0-2 years experience
