Room & Board is a progressive-minded retailer of contemporary home furnishings. We’re excited to open a flagship retail location in the historic 14^th and T neighborhood as well as a Delivery Center to serve our greater Washington D.C. customers.  Our Delivery Center will be located outside the beltway between Washington D.C. and Baltimore.  With anticipated market sales of $25 million, we are looking for an experienced Delivery Center Manager to open and manage our Washington D.C. delivery center operations. 

Our Delivery Center Manager ensures a seamless and exceptional furniture delivery process for our customers.  They understand their critical role in managing inventory, product flow and delivery services as a means to building long-term customer relationships.  They will oversee a diverse group of delivery, customer support, furniture prep and inventory professionals. 

The Delivery Center Manager will engage staff members and build staff awareness around how they impact delivered sales in their market.  They will maintain accurate inventory and ensure a continuous flow of product.  They maintain fiscal control of the delivery center and forecast delivered sales, staffing, and expenses.  In partnership with the Retail Market Manager, they will evaluate market conditions and develop strategic business plans that adjust to the changing needs of the market. 

Successful candidates will have experience leading a team of distribution and customer-facing professionals.  They will bring experience in logistics or delivery/distribution.  They are results oriented, strategic, collaborative and take a customer centric approach to their work.  They possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to build strong relationships.
