Friedman Electric Supply Co., a leading electrical distributor in the United States, is seeking to fill a Driver’s Positions in our distribution cross dock located in Pittston PA.  Drives truck or cargo van over various routes to deliver and pick up material and finished products. Candidates must be flexible to work all shifts, and are required to have a clean driving record; and preferred to have valid commercial drivers license with CDL B certification. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPSOPNSIBILITIES:

·            Make deliveries to customer job sites or sites of business while adhering to all safety procedures.

·            Drivers must load and unload materials, make deliveries, and return undelivered materials to the warehouse

·            Assist with the scheduling, loading and unloading of deliveries. Consults with supervisor about problems.

·            Check loaded items to ensure the proper items are being delivered as per the sales ticket and manifest

·            Delivers pallets, reels, pipe, and cartons and gets all delivery and manifest documents signed.

·            Verifies all authorized returned goods against return documents (RGA) or other shipping documents .

·            Picks up any material as authorized and scheduled from customer sites, i.e., reels, recyclables, dunnage.

·            Uses cell phone to report on progress after each and all deliveries with location updates, or other problems.

·            Observes all road safety rules and regulation and maintains a good driving record.

·            Inspects truck for defects before and after each trip and completes & submits a daily report (DVIR) indicating truck condition.

·            Responsible for the reasonable and general care and maintenance of the assigned vehicle and equipment .

·            Responsible for all assigned personal and truck equipment, (phone, locks, EZ pass,  safety equipment, documents, pipe carts, hand dollies, powered equipment in the warehouse)

·            Follows the schedules route or alternate route as necessary for all deliveries and pick-ups of materials and for customers and company using the most efficient and effective routes possible.

·            Reports all deviations of scheduled routes, traffic or other delays within 15 minutes of occurring to dispatch. r

·            Must be available to assist warehouse staff with order fulfillment, packing and labeling of orders, receiving and storing on shelving all material, relocation and/or rearrangement of stock as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·            Valid commercial driver's license and clean driving record. (CDL B with airbrakes is preferred)

·            Experience with reading maps and following geographical directions to plot delivery route.

·            Experience with maintaining driver logs and writing delivery records.

·            Basic knowledge and experience with electrical, lighting, and other  related product and certain product lines.

·            Responsible for familiarization of all company operational, security and safety policies and procedures.

·            Basic knowledge of warehouse and or cross dock shipping and receiving best practices.

·            Ability to effectively communicate with customers, sales reps, supervisors.

·            Drivers must be able to routinely lift and handle materials up to one hundred (100) pounds

·            Drivers are required to wear at all times, steel toe protected work boots as approved by ANSI.

·            Drivers are required to wear when the job site dictates, hard hats, and reflective vests.

·            Drivers are required to wear if provided, company logo’d shirts, hats, and jackets during all deliveries.
