Delivery Technician I (20091117)

OptionCare, a wholly owned subsidiary of Walgreens specializes in providing comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic conditions in their homes, ambulatory treatment centers and physician offices. Its services include intake coordination, benefits and reimbursement support, medication fulfillment and administration, compliance and patient education, one-on-one care and customer service. Skilled nurses and pharmacists are accessible 24/7 to deliver and manage complex infusion and injectable therapies from more than 100 OptionCare home infusion and specialty pharmacies in 35 states. OptionCare's services also include respiratory therapy and home medical equipment at some locations.

Job Duties Include: The delivery technician is responsible for the appropriate, timely delivery of equipment, supplies and medications to patients receiving home health care services. The technician is required to complete paperwork and documentation as per Walgreens-OptionCare policy. The delivery technician assists with warehouse/pharmacy operations and equipment/vehicle management. Demonstates competency and compliance with Walgreens-OptionCare policy in the delivery and pick-up of medical equipment, supplies and medications. Has completed the orientation and skills checklist for delivery technician and is knowledgeable regarding JCAHO standards related to home health product delivery. Effectively communicates with agency staff, patients and family. Assists or manages proper maintenance of company vehicles. Assists with the other duties in the warehouse and/or pharmacy as needed. Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information. Participates in the delivery technician on-call rotation. In all activities comply with accreditation, legal, regulatory and safety requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current valid driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance.
  • Clean driving record with knowledge of local and regional roadways in the service area.
  • Ability to read maps and utilizes available resources to locate addresses.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform physical labor.
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    Previous experience delivering health care products preferred. Good verbal and written communication skills.
