Delivery Truck Driver
Bio-Shine, a 20 year old Central Jersey based Janitorial Supply Distributor with 3 locations, is looking for a motivated enthusiastic CDL Class B Driver/Delivery person. Because we feel our drivers make the sales cycle complete, we expect our drivers to help us maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction on each and every delivery.
Responsibilities:The driver's responsibilities include making deliveries in the NJ metro area (60% NJ, 35% NYC, and 5% Philadelphia). Our drivers are required to load and unload pallets on their truck that are pre-picked, check items on the pallet against their manifest, make dock and inside deliveries to all accounts, get a signature for all deliveries and pickups, and bring back the truck to Spotswood every day gassed up. The driver has to clean out their truck at the end of each shift.
Documentation / Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification must be on person at all times when on Company business.
Experience: All Delivery Drivers must be 21 years old and have a safe driving history.
Qualifications: Our straight trucks weigh equal to or below 33,000 GVW. Experience in material handling equipment is a plus. Must possess a valid commercial's driver's license Class A or B. Must successfully complete DOT physical. Must submit to random drug and alcohol testing.
Knowledge: Knowledge of DOT regulations. Knowledge of safe and proper loading procedures. Knowledge of city traffic and locations to help determine most efficient routes. Knowledge of the procedures for securing the type of cargo in the motor vehicle he/she drives.
Skills: Basic reading and math skills, including the use of maps and GPS equipment. Good customer service skills. Effective oral and written communication skills.
Abilities: Moderate mechanical aptitude. Ability to drive in adverse weather or road conditions. Ability to lift 70 pounds routinely. Must be able to walk, drive and move freely. Must have corrected hearing and eyesight. Ability to communicate effectively with the general public and customers, to include offering information, answering questions and communicate information back to the main office. Ability to safely operate the type of motor vehicle he/she will be required to drive and has demonstrated the ability to safely operate the required vehicles by successfully completing Bio-Shine's road test requirements.
Work Schedule: 7:00 am to 3:30 most days, with overtime during peak season.
