About the Job

What you will do:

Under the supervision of the Demand Planning Manager, this position is responsible for developing and direct improvements to the Demand Plan and measuring actual performance.

How you will do it:

  1. Prepare a monthly unit forecast for all Retail, Wholesale, and OEM customers that meets the timing of the demand planning calendar.

  2. Evaluation of monthly data loads into Logility (statistical forecasting tool) – Quality of data is critical when developing baseline statistical forecasts. This role will be responsible for working with teams that maintain master data related to forecasting and forecast entries, so they are up to date and accurate. This includes evaluating and adjusting data for new history loads, new products added, products being phased out, as well as changes concerning territories, customers, and supply points.

  3. Generation of statistical forecasts – Evaluate the historical accuracy of statistical baseline forecasts and adjust parameters to ensure forecasting models provide the best possible baseline forecasts.

  4. Performance Measuring – Execute and evaluate performance measurements and exception reports. Determine forecast adjustments required to improve forecasting to at least target levels. Provide suggestions for additional measurements and reporting that may help improve forecast accuracies. Evaluate and recommend appropriate Forecast Accuracy targets for various levels of and categories of sales.

  5. Collaborate with the Marketing staff and the Sales force to gather judgmental input on future sales that cannot be derived using history. This will include implementing and utilizing standard work processes for collecting customer intelligence on significant changes in demand behavior, accounting for product life cycle changes and incorporating market dynamics and Power Solutions sales and marketing plans.

  6. Confirm/enforce the segmented forecast horizon, focusing on creating a frozen forecast horizon. Establish guidelines for forecast adjustments and horizon ownership. Train the stakeholders in the process as needed.

  7. Interface with other functions as required ensuring transparency of the Demand Planning process and results (i.e. Sales, Production Control, Supply Planning, etc.)

  8.  Perform other duties as required

What you will need:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, related curriculum, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of demand planning/supply chain management or experience in a similar field required.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.

  • Extremely detail orientated

  • Must possess technical database management skills, experience with statistical modeling and Logility software a plus.

  • Knowledge of Power Solutions Customers or experience in Sales/Marketing is desired.

  • A certification in Forecasting or Supply Chain Management from APICS or the Institute of Business Forecasting is a plus.
