This position is with a New York metropolitan area company, which manufactures and sells its products to other businesses.
You will be responsible for participating the forecasting and collaborative demand planning processes. You will act as the key link between the Sales & Marketing and the Supply Chain organization. Will work on improving the S&OP (Sales and Operation Planning) process within a manufacturing environment. Improve businesses process that align sales with manufacturing capabilities, purchasing and inventory availability.
Your background should include:
· Translation of sales objectives into product availability. Measurement and reporting of sales forecast accuracy, analysis to improve forecasts.
· Understanding of business functions and processes in a manufacturing company.
· Development and improvement of processes and controls, to ensure the appropriate supply chain planning strategy is in place to achieve service level and inventory objectives.
· Optimization of stock levels to fulfill customer orders. Reduction of dead stock and overstock. Interface with factory on production capacity constraints.
· Control of deliveries, optimization of the transportation process
· Prepare reports to track sales versus forecasts, backorders, inventory
To qualify, you must have a four year degree and at least five years of demand planning experience. Experience with advanced demand planning and scheduling systems such as SAP or another MRPII (JD Edwards, Oracle) required. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Must be computer literate, and experienced with the use of standard MS Office software, including Excel and Access.
