Qualifications:

•Drive new/improved product development efforts concentrating on products that will increase overall GPM
Manage Legacy Protective Systems Product Lines (Hoods, Gloves, Suits, and Shelters) and ensure the performance, profitability, delivery, and quality of these product lines meet / exceeds company standards.
•Lead design initiatives for new product development/product improvement activities while anticipating and fulfilling the needs of Sales & Marketing plans.
•Establish performance milestones and monitor adherence to program master schedule plans and schedules to ensure timely and cost efficient product development
•Establishes guidelines and directs the performance of Product Line functional team elements such as procurement, manufacturing, quality control, engineering, materials, and administration
Initiates, conducts, and directs product design activities throughout the entire life cycle of the product
•Responsible for providing engineering data and specifications to support the estimate preparation necessary to meet the financial objective(s).
•Interface closely with other functional departments in the development of new products and product
improvements and fabricating techniques to support improvements in our product line(s) while emphasizing reduced costs and increased profits.
•Champion ETO efforts associated with responsible product development efforts
•Use problem-solving skills, supported by theoretical and practical detailed design calculations, necessary to fully explore alternative solutions.
•Actively select and qualify materials, equipment, etc., jointly with R&D, Purchasing, Engineering, and Fabrication.
Abides by company safety policy and procedures during the course of his daily activities and promotes company goals & objectives during product development efforts
•Abides by company policies and procedures at appropriate level and in an ethic manner
•Create and facilitate all procedures and work instructions for area of responsibility in accordance with ISO standards
•Exhibits, facilitates and assures conformance to safe work practices
•Generates and maintains a positive image of Saint-Gobain to its customers and host community
•Develop personal goals and objectives and reviews previous performance with manager
•Initiate / participate in self-development and training of others
•Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business

Qualitifications:
- Four Year Bachelors Degree in an Engineering discipline.
- 0-4 years experience in engineering design.
- Basic competence in AutoCAD or similar drafting/design software; knowledge of Solidworks or Inventor preferred.
- Aptitude for hands-on prototyping and manufacturing.
- Ability to design, manage, and implement projects of a technical nature.
- Experience in the design of Individual/Collective Protection Systems (commercial and/or military) a plus.
- Able to operate independently and as part of a team.
- Team facilitation and project management experience a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and technical writing.
- Computer skills necessary to fulfill requirements of position.
- Self motivated worker, able to act independently and set and manage priorities.
- Must be able to drive projects from start to finish.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
