Design Engineer

Fast growing medical device company has an immediate opening for a Design Engineer with product development experience.
Engineer must be able to perform under limited supervision to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Supports product development, including prototype development of devices, fabrication, verification testing and analysis.Works on technical specifications (design and test, and test method development) to meet product requirements.Applies fundamental engineering principles to the design, fabrication, testing and evaluation of biosurgical products.
Experience with creation and submission of 510(k) documents and coordinating the testing and validation activities for 510(k) is desired.
Engineer will be able to work independently on design, development, and/or modification of new implantable medical device products from initial design to market release. Will conduct feasibility studies of the design to determine ability to function as intended and will maintain detailed documentation throughout development in compliance with company policies and government regulations.
Engineer must also be able to coordinate outside materials suppliers to ensure delivery of supplies and services needed to meet scheduled timelines.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:Bachelors of Science Degree in an Engineering Discipline. Mechanical Engineering preferred.
MINIMUM SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:2-5 years experience in medical device development.
