Design Engineer
Description:
Responsible for all areas requiring design, analysis, and recommendations. Analyze all in-house field issues and provides feedback to Product Engineering Manager. Ensures compliance with NACE, API, ASTM and ASME codes. Recommend improvements in areas of product design. Work closely with field services, manufacturing, and quality to enhance product design and solve design related issues. Communicate technical requirements to vendors on new and existing products. Procure parts and schedule engineering lab time for prototype projects. Work with Order Management on design of new valve applications and/or accessories. Remain current with engineering technology such as Inventor and CAD/CAM applications for design and documentation.
Qualifications:
BSME/BSMET or equivalent degree PLUS manufacturing experience.
Must have experience in the petroleum or petro-chemical industry, designing gate, ball and/or plug valves.
Ability to work effectively with others.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to set priorities and successfully manage projects to completion.
Ability to carry, lift, and install parts up to 50 pounds.
Ability to carry hand-tools or parts weighing up to 40 pounds.
Ability to assemble small components such as electrical devices, computer components, and precision measuring instruments.
Prefer candidates who are fluently bilingual in English/Spanish. All business correspondence and communication is conducted in English.
