Windsor Windows & Doors, a full line wood and vinyl window and patio door manufacturer has an immediate opening for a Design Engineer based in West Des Moines, Iowa.

The Design Engineer will be responsible for product design and all related functions required for new product development and revisions to existing products. This individual will report directly to the Product Design Manager.

Primary responsibilities will include:

§        Coordinate the introduction of new products and product enhancements

§        Complete design work according to standard engineering principles and practices.

§        Evaluate new products through extensive prototyping and testing.

§        Responsible for professional interaction between all levels of corporate structure involved in the production, purchase, marketing, and sale of products. 

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years product design experience with a variety of materials such as: wood, glass, metals, plastics, and sealants.  Experience in wood and vinyl window and door manufacturing is a plus.  Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required (experience with MS Office is a plus).  This individual must have an Engineering degree. The ability to think critically and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is essential. The ideal candidate will be hands-on and comfortable working under deadline pressure.  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail a must.
