About the Job

What you will do

The Design Specialist provides drafting and design support for engineering departments by assuming full drafting responsibility for assigned projects. Recognized emerging authority at the site. Performs a full range of design work using advanced techniques/ methodologies requiring special qualifications/ attainments/ certifications and/ or advanced training.


 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Work is assigned in terms of broad objectives. Requires little management direction. Work is reviewed at predetermined milestones and completion. May coordinate across groups.

  • This position provides frequent, significant support to other teams, suppliers, internal/external customers and business units. Responsible for providing technical direction on general work assignments to others.

  • Development of layouts for complete projects including assemblies and component parts.


How you will do it

As a Design Specialist you will need to:



  • Have the ability to visualize and design work in 2D and 3D.

  • Be familiar with Microsoft Office software and be proficient at Excel.

  • Work within fast-paced, schedule/customer driven, team oriented environment.


  • Have knowledge of Creo/Windchill


Be Knowledgeable in drafting room procedures such as retrieving and applying information from various purchasing and manufacturing specifications and release and revision of drawings into an achieved database. 










What we are looking for

Required


  • Ten (10) years of related drafting and design work experience


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), Parametric modeling  and PDM software as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.


Preferred


  • Associate Degree in Engineering, Drafting or equivalent science and five (5) years minimum.


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), AutoCad, Creo/Windchill as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.
