About the Job

What you will do


The Designer is a highly technical role that reports directly to the Manger of Ducted Systems Product Design. This tactical role will work as part of a team to deliver Drawings, Bills of Materials and other documentation needed from the New Products Design Engineering Team.  You will function according to the JCI Product Design Procedure and according to the Best Practices of the Department using predominately CREO and MDG/SAP.


 


How you will do it


As a Designer you will prepare CAD models, assemblies and drawings. These tasks are to be completed at a rapid pace, with few errors and a high degree of thoroughness. Bills of material will be prepared and you will provide information into the Engineering Change system. A designer also supports internal customers by addressing questions and addressing other support requests. You may be asked to assists in training and checking work of other designers as assigned by the supervisor sharing your technical and practical knowledge gained.  Interacting with other team members to accomplish tasks, achieve common goals, solve problems, resolve conflicts, and measure achievement will be a daily part of the role.  You will assist and work closely with model shop technicians during fabrication and assembly processes which could result in hands on experience.












What we look for 


 


Required 


·         Associate degree in Engineering, Computer Aided Design or related science or equivalent experience.


·         Minimum of 7 years’ in a design/drafting engineering environment.


·         Demonstrated proficiency Mastery of a 3D software in design, drawing, drafting and BOM tasks.


·         Working knowledge of MSOffice Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).


·         The ability work with and have a good rapport with manufacturing personnel.


 


Preferred


·         Creo


·         SAP


·         Sheet Metal and Piping modelling experience


·         Advanced assembly work


·         Up to 10% travel possible


·         HVAC working knowledge
