What we look for

The Design Specialist is responsible to plan, direct, and perform complex
drafting and design projects related to new product development and/or product
sustaining. Conventional as well as innovated methods are to be used in
addition to substantial judgment to accomplish assigned projects.




How
you will do it



  • Maintains an understanding of basics of
    operation of mechanical systems. Maintains an understanding of industrial
    mechanical design and is able to conceptualize and implement design ideas
    into the product.

  • Prepare drawings for piece parts and
    assemblies that are unusually complex or original in concept.

  • Utilize 3D CAD system to prepare drawings and
    layouts related to assignments.

    Plan, coordinate and oversee drafting activities related to specific
    design assignments including completing Engineering Change Requests and
    accurate Bill of Materials.

  • Report on project progress in written or
    verbal form to engineering, engineering management, project managers,
    customers or suppliers.

  • Provide frequent, significant support as a
    technical member of a global engineering project team, engineering change
    team, or material review board. Responsible for providing technical
    direction on general work assignments to other teams.

  • Prepares and participates in design reviews.
    Supports technical proposal activities. Provides recommendations on
    practices within design specialty to engineers.

    Train less experienced drafters in areas of technical and practical
    knowledge and share this knowledge with other product teams.

  • Perform studies to investigate and recommend
    new CAD or design hardware and software.

  • Possesses knowledge of
    materials selections and manufacturing processes and applies the philosophy of
    designing to standard manufacturing process and for serviceability. 













What
we look for

Required


1. Technical/Associates Degree or equivalent is required with 10 years of
experience in a related field



2. Experience with Pro/E, Assemblies and Piping is a plus



3. Experience using a MRP system (SAP and/or Mapics) is a plus



4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point



5. Professional communication and organizational skills



6. Experience in industrial equipment is preferred
