Designer - Piping/Mechanical

Piping/mechanical designer will create, maintain and update engineering drawings including piping plans, details, and schematics, equipment layouts, and P&IDs for company pipelines, terminals, and pump stations. Designer will assist engineers and field personnel with the design and revision of pipeline pumping station and terminal drawings. Assists in the development and implementation of company design standards. Field work, which will consist of walk-downs of facilities with field personnel in order to mark-up and revise DOT required drawings, is required. Designer will interact with engineering firms in order to facilitate design projects for various SXL facilities.

 



Job Requirements:

Candidate must possess an Associates degree or have technical school training and a minimum of 10 years of concentrated piping/mechanical design experience, preferably in the pipeline industry. Must be able to design and revise piping systems from engineering field sketches. Must have the ability to design and layout P&IDs for pipeline terminals and pumping stations. Candidate must possess a working knowledge of instrumentation and controls. Field experience required. Must be proficient in AutoCAD 2008, Windows XP and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with an electronic document management system (EDMS) such as Adept is desired. Successful candidate must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimum supervision. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required as designer will have extensive interaction with other designers, engineers, and field personnel.
