The Senior Learning Designer-Sales and Account Management leads efforts to build and maintain programs and materials that produce meaningful learning experiences for Healthways Sales and Account Management colleagues. This position is responsible for identifying, coordinating, and in some cases delivering programs that help our customer-facing colleagues understand customer needs, recommend Healthways solutions, and build and maintain positive relationships in support of our strategic business goals. This business partner position carries significant responsibility for working with channel leaders to identify, create, and support learning opportunities for Sales, Account Management, and Sales Operations colleagues. Additionally, the position partners with Solutions (product development) and Marketing as needed to support program goals and to ensure consistency.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Learning Advocate: Build case for and excitement around learning experiences within the Sales and Account Management channels, including marketing learning efforts. Partner with Sales and Account Management leaders to understand learning gaps, recommend approaches, and build a consistent, repeatable framework for professional development within these audiences. Act as subject matter expert on learning and learning technologies and apply knowledge of adult learning to the design, development, and facilitation of learning interventions and user-support content. Negotiate for best solutions and ensure customer satisfaction with learning efforts.
- Needs Assessment: Partner with internal and external customers at all levels to assess performance improvement needs and determine which needs require learning interventions.
- Design/Development: Collaborate effectively with internal and external subject-matter experts (including customers) to identify opportunities for and create learning materials, including courses, activities, simulations, newsletters, and job aids. Identify third-party partners and coordinate purchase of external content, programs, or certifications. May also include coordination of team events and executive briefings.
- Facilitation: As required by project, provide stand-up and/or Web-based instruction for Colleagues at headquarters and in field locations. Convey passion for content, internal and external credibility, and mastery of subject matter. Support executives, vendors, and other co-facilitators as needed.
- Project Management: Manage a portfolio of learning projects, including estimating work efforts for training projects, managing project scope to remain within budget and meet deadlines, reporting progress to senior leaders, and identifying and escalating risks appropriately.
- Evaluation: Collaborate with channel and Colleague Development colleagues to implement, track, and evaluate learning designs and work performance (Levels I-IV); Evaluate training outcomes to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of education at Healthways.
- Analysis: Research, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding current trends in adult learning, performance improvement, and e-learning, including vendors, outsourcing, and external partnerships.
- Position may also manage contractors and vendor relationships, as well as partner with in-channel support for development and delivery of training programs.
- Support Business Development efforts as required through presentations and industry events

This individual will also possess both the integrity and demeanor consistent with professionally representing Healthways. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have:
- Proven sales or account management experience and previous experience leading a team are strongly desired. A Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Health Education, Educational or Industrial Psychology, or related field is preferred. Previous healthcare experience desired but not required.
- 5 - 10 years experience in the design, development, and deployment of learning materials, preferably for Sales and/or Account Management audiences. Stand-up facilitation experience required. Experience with technology-driven learning programs strongly preferred. Previous success with sales events, campaigns, and recognition programs helpful.
- Knowledge of common external sales and client relationship management vendors, as well as certification programs, preferred. Certification to deliver training in one or more of these programs would be a plus.
- Very strong people skills, including indirect influence, collaboration, and partnership with internal and external constituents. Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face and in writing. Looking for high energy, credible business partners who can proactively assess opportunities, gain executive buy-in, and build support for learning initiatives.
- Project management skills, including planning, forecasting work requirements, proactive communication, delivering work on time within budget, and identifying and mitigating issues and risks. Proven experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders under tight timeframes.
- Fluency with Microsoft Office products is required; experience with e-learning technologies such as Adobe Captivate, Flash, or Breeze helpful but not required.
