Designers with experience on Ships of the US Navy
Discipline-
- Electrical- electronics, arrangements, shipboard cable routing and wireways experience
- Naval Architecture- structural, foundations, outfitting and lofting
- Marine- piping or HVAC
- In addition to the basic description and qualifications below, candidates should be familiar with discipline specific US Navy Mil-Specs and marine standards and specifications
Description & Qualifications:
Develops design models/ drawings according to engineering diagrams and ships specifications. Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as,autocad, CAM or CATIA. Experience with Ship Constructor a plus. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
Basic Qualifications: High School and ten (10) years related experience and/or additional education; AS Degree in related discipline and seven (7) years of discipline related experience.All candidates must be able to get a clearance
