Desktop

Apex Systems is currently looking for a mid-level Desktop Technician.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Answers, evaluates and prioritizes incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, LAN/WAN connectivity, telecom, email and other desktop/laptop related issues.
  • Interviews user to collect information about issue and leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of condition and resolve.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots issues caused by peripheral hardware such as modems, printers, cabling or telephones.
  • Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex issues requiring escalation level support to appropriate resource.
  • Logs and tracks calls utilizing automated trouble ticket system on a daily basis, maintains historical records relating to duties, problem resolution documentation and customer records.
  • Consults with in-house developers to explain customer issues with software.
  • Repairs of procures replacement for faulty or defective products.
  • Installs personal computing devices (Desktop, Laptop, PDA’s), software and peripheral devices including, but not limited to, printers and telephones

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 2 or more years Help Desk experience
  • Advanced level skills with desktop, laptop and PDA hardware, common software and operating systems, blackberry experience, MS office certification preferred
  • Basic level skills with Server Hardware, Operating systems, Telecom Equipment and Cabling.
  • Experience providing Blackberry support
  • Active Directory knowledge
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Microsoft or A+ certifications a plus
