Desktop Publisher

 

Tasks include:

• Provide desktop publishing and editorial support in the publication of technical manuals prior to going into production.
• Experience with Framemaker, MS WORD, and a background in DTP or Editing or Graphics experience Required.

 

Long term contract

 Position is project based, which means hours will flex depending on the project or projects.  Upto 40 plus hours per week

EXPERIENCE:

• Required: Minimum of 5 years of DTP or Editing or Graphics experience required
• Strong expertise with major DTP software tools including MS Word,  Framemaker.
• Nice to have Adobe Acrobat
• Excellent attention to detail and experience with Quality Assurance processes
• Demonstrated DTP problem solving skills.
• The ability to prioritize tasks and work as part of a team as well as independently.
• The ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and customer interface skills.

 Desired: Advanced experience with MS Word, strong working experience with Framemaker and Adobe Acrobat

  Duties include:

1) Attention to the layout of documents along with Create, format, and update of layouts using state-of-the-art DTP hardware and software.

2) Edit documents for Headers/Footers, font, cropping, spelling, grammar and usage, style, and consistency.

3) Work with team members to determine job requirements and schedule and provide status.

4) Create and update figures using graphics applications to support publications tasks.

6) Perform Quality Assurance (QA) and create and update database entries for job tracking and process details.

 

Required skills and experience:

• Proficient with MS Word, FrameMaker,  and Adobe Acrobat experience is preferred
• Experience working with localized documentation
• Flexible and adaptable in prioritizing daily work flow
• In depth knowledge of print and online document production
