Diagnostic Practice Consultant I

About the Job

The Diagnostic Practice Consultant will carry out all sales responsibilities to veterinary clinics and hospitals. Increase and build customer loyalty and usage of IDEXX products.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Increase usage of in-clinic diagnostic test kits, equipment consumables; and capital equipment sales.
  • Manage time, territory and distributor relations.
  • Install and train veterinary clinics’ staff on products, including troubleshooting and customer service.
  • Sales administration, including developing and maintaining account profiles.
  • Attend trade shows and other educational commitments.
  • Achieve and maintain technical knowledge of products and services.
  • Present IDEXX values to customers in a professional manner; including understanding the businesses, customers, technology, operations, and processes.
  • Achieve sales budgets on each IDEXX product line.
  • Develop partnerships with veterinary clinics’ staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree required; scientific or advanced studies a plus.


EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years sales experience and manufacturer sales required.

  • General business knowledge and valid drivers license.
  • Multi-tasking, creativity, technical aptitude, proven track record, computer skills, and knowledge of veterinary diagnostics preferred.
  • Documented track record of success achieving sales goals.
  • Computer database management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Overnight travel.
