Spherion has immediate temp-hire 2nd and 3rd openings for Die Casters. The starting salary is $11/hr. with opportunity for pay increases after 30/60/90 days as well as benefits, 401K and other nice company perks upon 90 day hire! The positions are located in Shelbyville, IN which is conveniently located off of I-74 E (approximately 20 minutes from 1-465S).
Summary: Inspects castings to ensure maintaining quality casting are being placed on the pallets for assigned machines.
Basic job responsibilities:
- Cleans flash, runners, flow pads off for assigned machines.
- Inspects castings to ensure these are no defects following the inspection standards for assigned machines.
- Perform machine start up under the direction of a qualified operator.
- Communicates with other operators to discuss any problems occurring with castings.
- Prepares appropriate daily paper work associated with the die cast operation.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- HSD/GED
- Good mechanical skills.
- Fork truck operator experience
- Ability to use various hand tools
- Must be able to pass thorough background investigation and drug screen
Work Environment:
- Plant conditions, including exposure to dirt, fumes, noise and cleaning chemicals
- Walking regularly
- Ability to lift and move 40-80 pounds on a regular basis
- Regular kneeling, squatting or working in otherwise uncomfortable work positions
- Standing and bending for extended periods of time
