Diesel Mechanic

We are currently seeking a Diesel Mechanic in our Des Plaines, Illinois facility.

The MCI Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic will be responsible for the diagnosis, removal, repair and replacement of various Motor Coach parts on both new and pre-owned coaches.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical problems using charts, technical manuals and previous experience
  • Perform both major and minor repairs related to diesel engines and transmissions
  • Diagnose, remove, repair and replace electrical and suspension components
  • Remove and replace parts such as fluids, gauges, wheel bearings and seals, tires, door assemblies, lights, valves, water pumps, and hoses
  • Ability to disassemble, repair and replace body accessories
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections of new and pre-owned coaches

Educational / Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of diesel automotive, coach or truck technical experience required
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
  • EPA Air Conditioning Certification preferred
  • Must be able to furnish own small hand tools including tools at and below a ½” drive level
