Diesel Mechanic
Brink’s U.S., a Division of Brink’s, Incorporated, is the premiere provider of armored car transportation, ATM servicing, currency and coin processing and other value added services to financial institutions, retailers and other commercial and government entities. We have a challenging opportunity for an experienced Diesel Mechanic. This position reports directly to the Fleet Supervisor.
Specific Job Duties:
• Ensure accurate diagnosis and the effective repair and or replacement of components necessary for the proper functioning of assigned equipment.
• Rebuild major components on assigned equipment.
• Effectively and efficiently perform preventive maintenance inspections.
• Ensure the timely and effective repair of any problems identified during preventive maintenance inspections.
• Maintain a high level of skill in: troubleshooting vehicle computer electronics systems, repairing and adjusting torsion arms and landing gear, testing, repairing and or replacing electrical and lighting systems, repairing and overhauling brake systems, repairing or replacing damaged tires
• Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns during working hours and from home as needed.
• Perform the duties of a technician or technician trainee as required.
• Wash and fuel equipment as requested.
• Perform collision damage repair, as necessary, on assigned equipment.
• Assess structural damage on assigned equipment and provide repairs as needed utilizing the most appropriate methods, including component replacement, welding, and sheet metal cutting.
• Road test vehicles to ensure quality of work performed.
• Advise supervisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time frame.
• Troubleshoot and repair lift gates as required.
• Be able to read and comprehend service information.
• Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
• 3-5 years experience in diesel truck repair required
• 3-5 years mechanic’s shop management
• Strong administrative and budgeting skills
• Solid work history
• Strong ethics and integrity
