Designs, develops, deploys and documents host based and embedded control systems that utilize state-of-the-art digital and mixed-signal electronic circuits.  The ideal candidate has a BSEE degree with a multi-discipline background in digital systems design, electro-mechanical systems, and embedded software development.  Solid experience with hardware best-practices is expected covering high-speed digital circuit design, FPGA development including Verilog based design and simulation, embedded microprocessor implementation and debug, and PADS logic and board design tools.  Direct experience with embedded and .NET software development methods and tools is highly desirable.

A Level II Engineer is expected to work independently with occasional supervision by a senior team leader.



What you will do:

  • Development of hardware for new products, new features and upgrades for existing products

  • Participation in a multi-disciplinary team environment researching, defining and analyzing hardware and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
  • Design and implementation of embedded digital systems consistent with the CTI development process and contemporary hardware/software engineering techniques
  • Performs debugging and unit testing of new features and subsystems
  • Performs integration and system test, and supports the beta and product introduction phases
  • Participates in specification, design, implementation, and test reviews within and across projects
  • Produces manufacturing documentation and test procedures for developed hardware modules
  • Follows and contributes to the improvement of the hardware/software development process :

What you will need:

  • BSEE, 3-7 years relevant digital electrical engineering experience
  • Experience with real-time embedded and distributed processing systems
  • Xilinx and/or Altera FPGA development tool experience including fluent use of Verilog and ModelSim
  • Demonstrated skill using PADS Logic, DxDesigner, or Orcad.  A full understanding of multi-layer high-speed digital PC board design rules is required.
  • Relevant experience in developing hardware and software for electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Demonstrated team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills



Desirable skills/experience are:

  • Analog circuit design

  • Programming experience with LabVIEW, C, C++ and C#.
  • Experience with Subversion source code control
